AUTONOMOUS WILDLAND FIRE SUPPRESSION
Fire Defence Systems builds autonomous wildland fire suppression — a sensing, deciding and delivery network that puts retardant on a new ignition inside five minutes, in terrain no vehicle can reach, at night, in wind that grounds aircraft.
01 · THE PROBLEM
TERRAIN NO VEHICLE CAN REACH
No bridge, no ford, no road. The ground between a crew and a new ignition is the fire’s oldest ally.
AT NIGHT
Fire lies down after dark — the cheapest window to hold it — and it is exactly the window crewed aviation cannot use.
IN WIND THAT GROUNDS AIRCRAFT
The conditions that make a fire dangerous are the conditions that keep conventional air attack on the ground.
02 · THE SYSTEM
S-01 · SENSE
Measured at the fire.
ISR aircraft and the sensor mesh hold over the ignition, measuring wind, spread and intensity at the fire — not modelled from a road. Every node streams live data to fire control.
S-02 · DECIDE
One number: the burst point.
Fire control fuses the wind field, terrain and fire behaviour to solve where each FD25 round should burst for maximum retardant coverage on the ground. Solved before anything is released.
S-03 · DELIVER
Guided. Repeatable. Held.
On a person’s authorisation, rounds release from the platform, cross the ground no vehicle can, and burst at the solved point — a retardant curtain drifting onto the fire until the mesh confirms it is held.
HOW THE SYSTEM WORKS — THE FULL PICTURE
03 · ONE RELEASE CYCLE
DETECTION & CUEING
A heat signature is flagged and cross-cued from a second sensor before anyone moves.
ISR FLIGHT
Aircraft hold over the ignition, measuring the fire and the wind at the fire.
FIRE CONTROL & SOLUTION
The burst point for each FD25 round is solved from live data: wind field, terrain, spread.
HUMAN AUTHORISATION
A person reviews the solution and authorises every release. Nothing fires without that decision.
GUIDED DELIVERY
Rounds cross the denied ground and burst at the solved point, upwind, for maximum coverage.
SAFETY CASE & ASSURANCE
Every release is logged end-to-end: what was seen, what was solved, who authorised, where it landed.
04 · HOW WE OPERATE
The brand essence is not a slogan set. It is the standard the system — and the company — is held to.
EARLY
We arrive in the first five minutes, because that is where the fire is still small.
MEASURED
Every release point is solved from data taken at the fire, not modelled from a road.
ACCOUNTABLE
Autonomy runs to the edge of the trigger and stops. A person authorises every release.
05 · CONTACT
REQUEST A BRIEFING.
We brief fire agencies, utilities and land managers on capability, integration and trial pathways — including what the system cannot do.
